The Crown Inn, Elton, Campbridgeshire

About

The Area

Our new visitors are always surprised that there are still villages like Elton - it is so unspoiled. And we at the Crown are at its heart, complete with thatched roof, wooden beams and roaring open fire.

The perfect base in fact, to explore a fascinating area. Flowing through Elton is the River Nene, believed to be the inspiration for the classic children’s book "The Wind in the Willows." The picturesque Elton Mill and Loch are a short saunter away, as is Elton Hall which stands in the midst of its famous parkland and gardens. Very well worth a visit.

The historic towns of Oundle - home to the famous school - and Stamford with its old buildings and lovely old shops are only a short drive away, while only slightly further afield is the city of Peterborough, with high street shopping, the cathedral and fast rail connections to all parts.

Children can have fun at the Nene Valley Railway museum - home to Thomas - and Sacrewell Farm and Country Centre deep in the heart of the Cambridgeshire countryside and promises an action packed, fun filled day come rain or shine. If you want any more information, do just give us a ring or drop us a line.
